Here Comes The Sun

When it flares, it blows a billion tons of it's atmosphere into space at 1 million miles per hour.

Closer to our home, these flares manifest themselves as the aurora borealis (northern lights), wreak havoc with our satellite communications & overload power lines.

Over the years its rays have burned my eyelids, the soles of my feet & other equally tender areas. Penalties I suppose for adhering to the notion that I am somehow impervious to its overwhelming strength.

I prefer it when it is less rambunctious, softly filtering through windows, creating shadows & illuminating skin.

Today I celebrate the lengthening days, the explosion of greens, blues & yellows that will soon dominate the landscape thanks to its rays.

Back To The Future

Ok, so I have been handcuffed lately, & the posts have not been flowing...or at least the words have not.

I have come to this page many times since returning from the road trip, stared at it, uploaded the images & then - nothing. I have written hundreds in my head, jotted ideas & topics in my little note book but somehow they just never made it to these pages.

In my University days I managed a formidable number of A's. My one failure was a third year English class.

The instructor called me to his office to inquire the reason for my not submitting the final paper. My response horrified him a bit I think. "Well Sir, I have written it four times, but none of the drafts are good enough".

"Sir", he replied, "in your later life, no one will ask what your mark was in a particular class, they will only want to know if you managed to get the job done. In future, see that you do".

So, here I go again my friends, back to the future & starting to finish.

Saying farewell to the ass end of this year causes me no sadness whatsoever.

The Time of The Season

It is the time of the season to reflect, to celebrate with friends, family & loved ones and to plan for the year that is to come.

For all of the trials & tribulations that I have experienced this year, they pale in comparison to the friendships that have blossomed and grown and the collaborations that have been created.

Party hard & travel safe my dear ones.

We shall carry on through this time and into the New Year.
